In Greene County district court Dale Lee Spaulding, 53, of Ellsworth was sentenced Dec. 6 to 1 year in in jail after being found guilty in a jury trial Nov. 29 of operating while intoxicated- first offense. All but 10 days of the jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services (DCS) for one year. If he eventually serves the sentence it will be consecutive to the jail sentence in another Greene County case. Spaulding must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense, and he must complete a community college driving drivers school, also at his own expense. He was fined $1,250 with a $187.50 surcharge; one-half will be waived if he obtains a temporary restricted license. He must pay $481.25 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s charges and $495.81 court costs. Spaulding has appealed his case to the Iowa Supreme Court. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. Shari Ann Allen, 63, of Grand Junction was sentenced Dec. 6 to one year in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license revoked. The jail time was suspended and she was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for oe year. If she eventually serves the jail sentence it will be consecutive to the sentence on a charge of operating while intoxicated. Allen was fined $1,000 with a $150 surcharge. She must pay an amount not to exceed $600 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s feed and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Joshua Arick Rodgers, 29, of Jefferson was sentenced to 60 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of child endangerment- aggravated misdemeanor, amended from child endangerment causing serious injury- felony. The jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Iowa DCS for one year. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge. He must pay an amount not to exceed $750 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $328.75 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Gary Paul Sinkular, 51, of Jefferson pleaded not guilty Dec. 1 to a charge of possession of marijuana- third or subsequent offense. A trial date was set for March 1.
A case was initiated against Scot Michael Picknell, 23, of Churdan on a charge of possession of marijuana.
